Winter Docks

What boat docks do in the summer time. At least in western Pennsylvania, it is necessary to remove the docks from the water because the inlets where the boats are docked have the capacity to freeze solid. Many times this freezing paired with the fast moving current of the river cause quite violent ice breakage that would destroy boat and dock.
